DR. PHILIP WAZNY NMD
A native of Colorado, Dr. Wazny graduated from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, in Tempe, Arizona, in 2005. He is certified and licensed by the State of Arizona Naturopathic Physicians Medical Board. At graduation he received the Daphne Blayden Award in recognition of academic excellence, compassion and perseverance. He then went on to complete a two year residency with Klee Bethel, MD, one of the top pain management specialists in the Phoenix area, where he was trained in prolotherapy and platelet-rich-plasma therapy. Prior to medical school, Dr. Wazny graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Molecular, Cellular, Developmental Biology and Biochemistry from the University of Colorado, Boulder. He served as president of the University’s Premedical Honor Society, Alpha Epsilon Delta, and worked as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Searching for adventure and new experiences in health care upon graduation, Dr. Wazny spent two years with the United States Peace Corps in Honduras where he worked with midwives, physicians and nurses in many aspects of primary care. He speaks fluent Spanish. Dr. Wazny knew he wanted to be a doctor from a very young age and chose to pursue a career in Naturopathy because it places an emphasis on prevention of disease and optimizing lifestyle to maintain wellness. He focuses on addressing the root cause of disease and partners with patients to achieve optimal health. In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Wazny also speaks and writes on health and wellness. He has a passion for sharing his knowledge through public speaking and podcasting in his areas of expertise. In his free time, Dr. Wazny enjoys time outdoors on his bike, on the golf course or at the grill. He and his wife and two daughters reside in Scottsdale, Arizona.
